Women's Ministry

Presbyterian Women

PURPOSE:

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

To nurture our faith through prayer and bible study,

To support the mission of the church worldwide,

To work for justice and peace, and

To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

There are three circles (groups) which meet monthly (one daytime and two evening) for bible study and fellowship.  We have general meetings four times a year to which all women of the church are invited.  An annual budget is maintained  to cover projects for which the women are responsible.  Some of those expenses include student grants, local missions, providing the family meal at a time of bereavement, as well as support for the Presbyterian Women in Presbytery/Synod.  We give our annual Thank Offering which helps supply grant money to worthy programs in both the U.S. and overseas.  The annual Birthday Offering is taken to help support mission projects throughout the world.  One of our important local missions is helping Goodland Academy located near Hugo, Oklahoma.

The women maintain a prayer chain to pray for those who are ill or have illness in the family, those who have lost a loved one, or who may have troubles and need the prayers and support of friends.

Dorcas Circle meets at the church at 9:30 a.m. the second Wednesday of the month.

Hannah Circle meets at the church at 7:00 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month.

Lydia Circle meets at the church at 6:00 p.m. the third Thursday of the month.

All women are invited to attend the circle which is most convenient for them.  It is an opportunity to study together, to strengthen your faith, and to share in the work of the church.
